| Clippers Pin 6-4 Loss on Chicago | The Chicago Chiefs got a sterling performance from pitcher Troy Myers, but the Baltimore Clippers still prevailed, 6-4. Myers threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The win went to Davey Cronin in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Hal Alsip took the loss. The triumph puts Baltimore at 23-17 for the season.
Had Amos Johnson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Johnson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Clippers.
"We didn't play well enough to win," Chicago skipper Ollie Howard said. | |
