Rallying Imperials Get 7-6 Win
Fans who congregated at Golden Gate Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.

The New York Imperials beat the San Francisco Sailors, 7-6 -- though it took them 16 innings. New York shortstop Rusty Robertson had a pretty good game. He was 3-7 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. New York reliever Joe Velazquez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Phil Knott took the loss.

George Love came through with a big-time hit for New York. The third baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the 16th inning to give his team the lead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

In postgame remarks, Love simply said: "Here's to a great win!"

New York is now 21-19, San Francisco 25-19.
