| Gothams Chop Down Keystones, 5-2 | The New York Gothams beat the Philadelphia Keystones, 5-2. New York pitcher and Detroit, Michigan, native Joe Nelson led the way. After today's action, New York sits at 19-21, while Philadelphia falls to 16-23.
Ed Davis came through with a big-time hit for New York. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I didn't leave too many pitches out over the plate," said Nelson.
