| Clippers Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win | The Baltimore Clippers earned a close win over the Washington Eagles, thanks in part to Joe McDowell. The Baltimore right-hander, who finished 3rd in the CA in innings pitched with 257.1 in 1966, played a key role in the 10-inning, 3-2 victory. The Clippers have a winning streak of 5 games.
The Clippers got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Jack Lewis. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Clippers.
"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Washington manager Joe D'Aprile. | |
