Foresters Drop 8-3 Decision to Kings | The home crowd had a good time watching the Cleveland Foresters and Kansas City Kings get after it.
Jack Halbur, who finished 2nd in the FA in saves with 16 in 1954, had a strong outing for the Kansas City Kings against the Cleveland Foresters at Prairie Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 8-3 win. Halbur, now 6-2, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing 2 runs.
Lyman Chandler put Kansas City in front, 7-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Sonny Stoyer in the bottom of the third. It was his 2nd home run of the season.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Chandler.
The Kings, now 31-19, have won 4 in a row. | |
