Joe Jones never let New York get something going. The Detroit left-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Dynamos to a 4-1 win. Pedro Castro earned the save, his 2nd, for the Dynamos. Detroit has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

In the bottom of the third, Geoff Taylor delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Detroit center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Dynamos in front, 4-1.

"Joe did a heck of a job," said Detroit manager Roger Cleaves.
