| Eagles Suffer 9-8 Home Defeat | In a high-scoring contest between St. Louis and Washington, left fielder Cliff Coleman was a difference-maker. Coleman distinguished himself in the 9-8 St. Louis win. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Harry Anderson earned the win for St. Louis.
