| Kansas City Stopped, 6-1, by San Francisco | Soggy conditions did not keep San Francisco and Kansas City from playing their scheduled game.
Bob Briggs never let Kansas City get something going. The San Francisco right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Sailors to a 6-1 win. San Francisco, now 20-25, holds down 4th place in the Continental Association West.
Joe Johnson had a big solo home run for the Sailors in the top of the third inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 34-year old left-handed pitcher Clay Buddemeyer and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Sailors on top, 2-0.
"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Kansas City skipper Sakan Hashizume. | |
