Powell Lifts Millers to 11-8 Triumph
The Minneapolis Millers and Boston Minutemen lit up the scoreboard.

The 11-8 Minneapolis win over Boston was due in large part to Bill Powell. The Millers center fielder went 2-3 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. Daryl Woods earned the save, his 1st, for the Millers.

Minneapolis shortstop Bill Barber contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 55th hit of the season and put the Millers ahead, 2-0.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Millers manager Bill Bryan. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

The victory gives the Millers a record of 23-19.
