Sailors 9-5 Winners Versus New York
Golden Gate Stadium was the site for Continental Association action featuring the New York Imperials and San Francisco Sailors.

New York got a terrific game from second baseman Owen Drake. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to San Francisco, 9-5. Drake hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was Johnny Baylor. He tossed 89 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits.

Charlie Jarzombek had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Sailors. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and San Francisco trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said San Francisco manager Bob Harris.

The setback makes New York 20-19.
