| Philadelphia Downed, 4-2, by Suns | Los Angeles Suns starter Heinie Schmidt turned in a top-notch performance against the Philadelphia Keystones at Liberty Coliseum. The result was a win for the Suns, 4-2. Los Angeles reliever George Cox picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Jim Steuber was saddled with the loss. The Suns have an impressive 28-13 record.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ed Mooney? The 27-year old catcher Mooney stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Los Angeles up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
