| Suns Sting Millers, 6-3 | Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Los Angeles Suns and Minneapolis Millers.
The Los Angeles Suns picked up a win at Wilshire Park, knocking off the Minneapolis Millers, 6-3. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Heinie Schmidt. He played a key role in the triumph. Schmidt picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3.
Harry Dellinger, who finished 2nd in the FA in stolen bases with 25 in 1962, took Minneapolis hurler Pete Jones deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 3-run home run put the Suns on top, 5-2. In all, Dellinger had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Every time I step on the mound, I want to go out there and compete and bring my best game," said Schmidt.
The win for the Suns lifted their record to 24-15.
