Williams Delivers Walk-Off Win for Kings | The Kansas City Kings and Dallas Wranglers played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
In a low-scoring contest between the Kansas City Kings and the Dallas Wranglers, 21-year old right-handed pitcher Allie Boone proved to be the difference. The Kansas City right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Kings win. Henry Henderson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1. Hank Berkowitz, who led the CA in saves with 23 in 1954, was tagged with the loss.
Hank Williams was the walk-off hero for Kansas City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Kings left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Kansas City manager Glenn Carney.
With the win, Kansas City upped its record to 29-19. | |
