| Baltimore Nets 6-5 Win Versus Chiefs | Both teams had their chances, but the Baltimore Clippers eventually prevailed.
Baltimore beat Chicago at Patapsco Field, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to left fielder Bill Davis. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Davey Cronin, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0.
Had Davis not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Davis hit a run-scoring single. The Clippers took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.
"Winning never gets dull," said Davis.
With the win, Baltimore pushed its record to 22-15. | |
