The losses keep piling up for the Los Angeles Suns.

The Pittsburgh Miners defeated the Los Angeles Suns, 9-3, at Fitzpatrick Park. Pittsburgh was led by 1961 FA batting champion Frank Selander, who hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Los Angeles, now 5-16, continues its tough start.

In the bottom of the first inning, shortstop John Moreland had a 2-run home run for Pittsburgh. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Miners on top, 2-0.

"We haven't been playing to the level we want to play," said Los Angeles manager Bill Morrill.
