| Seattle Defeated By Imperials, 4-1 | New York used a superb performance from starting pitcher Jim White to down the Seattle Kings, 4-1. Ed Cooper got the save, the 7th for him this season. The loss makes Seattle 27-14.
New York used a clutch at-bat from Bill Wood to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Imperials ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Jim set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said New York manager Jim Abernathy. | |
