Getting offensive support from Bob Griffin, the Los Angeles Stars topped the Cincinnati Cannons, 7-6. Griffin went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Stars. With the win over Cincinnati, the Stars improved to 20-21.

With Los Angeles leading 6-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Griffin came up to bat against Cincinnati pitcher Bob Hickman. Griffin hit a curveball to right for a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Stars on top, 7-1.
