| Dominant Performance by White in Washington Win | The home crowd had a good time watching the Houston Comets and Washington Eagles get after it.
The Houston Comets had to reckon with Washington Eagles hurler Herman White. White, who leads the FA with a 8.3 K/9 rate, overwhelmed the opposition in the 7-1 Eagles triumph. The Eagles improved their record to 16-22 by beating Houston.
White's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. White, who led the FA in strikeouts with 216 in 1973, goes to 2-4 on the year with 50 strikeouts.
"I'm happy we won," said White. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
