| St. Louis Beaten, 5-4, by Philadelphia in 14 | The Philadelphia Keystones did just enough to secure a victory over the St. Louis Pioneers, 5-4, in 14 innings at Liberty Coliseum. Nobody did more than pitcher Buzz Lucas. Billy Hasson, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Philadelphia is now 15-20, while St. Louis is 16-24.
Philadelphia got a knockout punch from Joe Landry. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 14th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Landry.
