| Eagles Topple Keystones, 2-1 | In a low-scoring tilt between the Washington Eagles and the Philadelphia Keystones, Eddie Yandow, who is tied for 3rd in the FA in quality starts with 7, was the difference-maker. The Washington right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The save went to Doc Lindley, number 3 for him. The Eagles are now 18-22.
Al Marino, who finished 5th in the FA in home runs with 25 in 1971, had a direct impact on the outcome. Marino contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Washington up, 2-0.
