| Sailors Pull Out Late Win, 6-5 | The Toronto Wolves got a superb performance from center fielder Dwayne Cleaves, but the San Francisco Sailors still won the game, 6-5. Cleaves went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. San Francisco reliever Eddie Morrison got the win, raising his record to 3-3. Harry Street was tagged with the loss. San Francisco raised its record to 23-17 with the win.
Milo Daniel was the walk-off hero for San Francisco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sailors center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Daniel said in his postgame press conference.
