| Copperheads Suffer 7-1 Road Loss | Detroit pitcher Ossie Schrieber had a large part in his team beating the Atlanta Copperheads, 7-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Schrieber, now 1-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Detroit is now 18-21, Atlanta 25-13.
In the bottom of the fifth, Detroit third baseman George Crain had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Crain stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 5-1, Detroit. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Dynamos," said Crain.
