| Down to Defeat Goes San Francisco, 4-3 | The Toronto Wolves beat the San Francisco Sailors by a score of 4-3. Toronto left fielder Sid Cullen deserved the lion's share of the credit. Cullen went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs for the Wolves. Toronto reliever Harry Street picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Bert Alexander was tagged with the loss. Ray Smith got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Cullen delivered big-time for Toronto, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Bert Alexander. The game-changing hit put the Wolves on top, 4-3.
After the game, Toronto manager Carl Evans applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
