| Quinn Thwarts Los Angeles, 1-0 | In a seemingly effortless performance, Herm Quinn of the Cincinnati Cannons shot down the Los Angeles Stars, 1-0, on 5 hits.
"Herm was just locating so well and using his pitches," Cincinnati manager Charlie Britton said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Quinn recorded 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Los Angeles manager Charley McCullough said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
This year, Quinn has compiled a 6-1 record with a 2.53 ERA in 9 starts. | |
