New York Tags Boston with 9-2 Defeat
New York starter Harry Hayward ran into little resistance from Boston hitters, as his team cruised to victory, 9-2. Hayward picked up the win for New York, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The Gothams, at 16-19, inhabit 4th place in the Federal Association East.

The Minutemen had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Gothams going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the fan favorite Earl Ferry came to the plate. Ferry hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 fastball from Boston hurler Richie Thornton. It was Ferry's 9th double of the year.

"They took it to us," said Boston manager Dode Edwards.
