| || Pioneers End David's Streak |
Tuesday, September 6th, 1927
It just wasn't Eddie David's day.
The Detroit Dynamos took the 6-4 win today over the St. Louis Pioneers, but the Pioneers mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 20-game hitting streak of Dynamos right fielder Eddie David.
"We might have focused a bit too much on stopping David," St. Louis manager Tom Campbell commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Dynamos have other hitters and they did their job today."
This year David is batting .310 with 5 home runs. He has scored 71 runs and driven in 69.
