Philadelphia Bats Silenced by Barton
Tuesday, July 24th , 1945
Clarence Barton handcuffed the Philadelphia Sailors at Sailors Memorial Stadium today, coming away with a 2-hit, complete game shutout.

"I had everything working for me out there," the Brooklyn Kings right-hander said later. "I used every one of my pitches, hit both sides of the plate really well and felt like I could do whatever I wanted."

With his stuff working, Barton had little trouble with the Sailors and led the Kings to victory, 3-0. He recorded 3 strikeouts and 3 walks in an impressive performance.

On his stats sheet this season Barton shows a 5-6 record, 17 starts, 108.1 innings, 48 strikeouts and a 4.07 ERA.
