| Miners Nip Dynamos, 3-2 | Fitzpatrick Park was the site of a tense game between the Detroit Dynamos and Pittsburgh Miners.
Starting pitcher Clem Roth took care of business, helping the Pittsburgh Miners stifle the Detroit Dynamos, 3-2. Gene Madison snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits. He's now 1-1 on the season.
Pittsburgh took a 3-2 lead on Bob Lopez's 16th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Lopez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Detroit pitcher Wally Hunter shaking his head.
"We found a way to get it done," Lopez said.
Pittsburgh, at 27-28, holds down 4th place in the Federal Association.
