Samuels Shines in 9-7 Cleveland Win
Good production from first baseman Lorenzo Samuels helped the Cleveland Foresters topple the Philadelphia Sailors, 9-7. Samuels went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Foresters. Cleveland reliever Walt Hill picked up the win to move to 3-0. Joe Hess suffered the loss. The Sailors drop to 5-5 and continue their mediocre start to the 1950 season.

Cleveland took a 9-7 lead on Larry McClure's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Philadelphia pitcher Joe Hess in the bottom of the eighth.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said McClure, "one at-bat at a time."
