| Falcons Win at Nagasaki, 4-2 | The Fukuoka Falcons and Nagasaki Stars completed their game despite the rain.
Nobu Ishihara made an impact in the 4-2 Fukuoka win over Nagasaki. Ishihara, who is tied for 7th in the WL in extra base hits with 23, was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Norito Yamazaki, who threw 108 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits.
Ishihara contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Fukuoka in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Ishihara took a fastball from Katsunan Umemoto and stroked the home run to left. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Falcons to leap in front, 2-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Nagasaki skipper Yusuke Kimura, "and it cost us."
Fukuoka now has a 3-game win streak.
