| Bears Stun Owls, 3-2 | The Sapporo Bears and Kyoto Owls completed their game despite the rain.
The Kyoto Owls got a superb performance from pitcher Tomohito Kimura, but the Sapporo Bears still won the game, 3-2. Kimura threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The second-place Bears lifted their record to 39-42.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Sapporo trailing 2-1, Terunobu Saito hit a curveball from Morihiro Matsumura to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Bears had a walk-off win.
"Put a star next to this win," Saito said.
