Sapporo Stadium was the site for Eastern League action featuring the Sapporo Bears and Kyoto Owls.

The Kyoto Owls picked up a win at Sapporo Stadium, knocking off the Sapporo Bears, 10-2. Starting pitcher Dan Rivard was a big reason why. Rivard went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-2.

In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, Rivard came to the plate. He hit a sacrifice fly off Kinzo Yoshimura to put the Owls in the lead, 1-0.

"I'll be honest," said Rivard. "I was running on fumes at the end."
