Gothams Earn 6-3 Win Against Pioneers
The New York Gothams picked up a win at Pioneer Field II, knocking off the St. Louis Pioneers, 6-3. Starting pitcher Ed Bowman was a big reason why. Bowman went 10 innings to notch the win. He scattered 11 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-0. The save went to Steve Groves, number 1 for him.

New York used a timely hit from Roosevelt Brewer to get the win. The third baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Gothams ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Bowman. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."

New York goes to 4-2.
