Stars Get Past Cleveland for 3-2 Win | The New York Stars got a strong performance from pitcher Vern Hubbard, who stymied the Cleveland offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Dyckman Stadium. New York now has a record of 64-60 with the win.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With New York trailing 2-1, Freddie Jones hit a cutter from Adrian Czerwinski to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Stars had a walk-off win.
Jones called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem." | |
