Messer Leads Gothams to 8-3 Win Over Keystones
The New York Gothams trumped the Philadelphia Keystones, 8-3, at Broad Street Park II. New York left fielder Walt Messer was terrific. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. New York goes to 76-44. The win puts them 12½ games up in their division.

Chief Lewis, the 24-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Lewis contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put New York up, 3-0.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Lewis.
