| Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Cannons | Cincinnati starter Mickey Mills pitched well against the Philadelphia Sailors at Sailors Memorial Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Mills got the win, improving to 13-5. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Mills allowed 1 run. Cincinnati currently is in third place in the Continental Association at 59-49.
Had Denny Andrews not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Andrews hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Cannons.
