| Gothams Run Win Streak to 8 | The New York Gothams took Chicago pitcher John Stallings's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Whitney Park. The final score had New York getting past the Chiefs, 3-2. Stallings went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 9. Steve Groves earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 3-3. The Gothams have an impressive 65-41 record.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Jack Kintner's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With one out, the New York left fielder hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Gothams manager Bud Jameson, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
