In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 2-2, shortstop Skipper Schneider won it for Chicago. With a runner on 2nd, Schneider hit a 2-2 curveball from Larry Beebe for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.
