Kings Come Up Short at Toronto, 2-1 | Toronto Wolves starter Ray Hatch hurled his team past the Brooklyn Kings, 2-1. Hatch picked up the win for Toronto, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. Harry Phillips earned his 1st save in 1 tries.
Toronto shortstop John Wells contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 7th hit of the season and put the Wolves ahead, 2-1.
