| Kings Sneak By Sailors, 2-1 | The Brooklyn Kings picked up a win at Sailors Memorial Stadium, knocking off the Philadelphia Sailors, 2-1. Starting pitcher Bob Arman was a big reason why. Arman, now 10-7, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Kings bumped their record to 44-40 with this latest triumph.
The result might have been different for Brooklyn, had it not been for Billy Bryant, the former first round draft pick . Bryant stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Brooklyn up, 2-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 3 at-bats.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Brooklyn manager Tom Barrell.
