Montreal starter Wally Reif pitched well against the Philadelphia Sailors at Sailors Memorial Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. Reif went the distance for Montreal. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits.

Montreal took advantage of an error in the top of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Bill Elkins hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Montreal in front, 4-2.
