| Sailors Bridle Saints, 3-1 | The Philadelphia Sailors got a magnificent performance from pitcher Joe Hess, who stifled the Montreal offense en route to a 3-1 Sailors win at Sailors Memorial Stadium. Hess, now 5-8, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. Philadelphia now has a 3-game win streak.
George Rutter hit a 2-run double off Wally Doyle in the bottom of the first, which put the Sailors in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Rutter had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.
