The Cincinnati Cannons picked up a win at Tice Memorial Stadium II, dropping the Montreal Saints, 3-2. Jimmy Block, who is tied for 10th in the CA with a 3.70 ERA, was the difference-maker. Paul Williams earned the save, his 4th, for the Cannons. Cincinnati now sports a record of 23-32.

The Cannons got a big hit from first baseman Chuck Adams. Facing Montreal pitcher Skinny Green in the bottom of the fifth, Adams pounded a run-scoring double to left-center. His 8th double of the season put the Cannons ahead, 3-1.

"That's baseball," said Montreal manager Tom Paul. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
