| Foresters Take Tight Tilt | Cleveland parlayed a decent outing from starter Larry Beebe into a solid win over the Los Angeles Stars. The final score was 3-2. The winning pitcher was Beebe, now 6-1. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 2. Hank Berkowitz earned the save for Cleveland, his 6th.
Tom Jeffries, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Cleveland cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Beebe.
