Big Day for Whaley in 6-3 Eagles Win | The Washington Eagles beat the Boston Minutemen, 6-3, at Minuteman Stadium. George Whaley, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The winning pitcher was Walter Paxson. He's now 2-0. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the Eagles. Washington has an impressive 30-14 record.
With Washington trailing 1-0 in the top of the third, Whaley hit a 2-run single off Boston hurler Andy Logue. It was the 58th hit of the season for Whaley and put his team ahead, 2-1.
