| Keystones 5-3 Victors Over Chiefs | Due in large part to second baseman Al Dunlap, the Philadelphia Keystones sunk the Chicago Chiefs, 5-3. Dunlap went 3-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times. Troy Crockett, the winner, improved to 5-4. He held the Chiefs to 3 runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 3. The 7th-place Keystones sport a record of 21-28.
Philadelphia shortstop Red Ellis contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a splitter to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Keystones ahead, 3-2.
Philadelphia manager Carl Ames was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
