| 3-2 Loss Extends Minneapolis Skid | The Chicago Chiefs got a stellar effort from pitcher Fred Moore, helping Chicago score a win over the visiting Minneapolis Millers, 3-2. The winner was Moore. He threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Walt Staton. With the loss, Minneapolis falls to 0-10.
The Chiefs got a big at-bat from left fielder Doc Zimmerman. For the game, Zimmerman was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
"Fred was able to execute his pitches," said Chicago manager Dutch Becker. "Simple as that."
