The game between Tokyo Rakisuta and Nagoya Hosho is in the books, despite a little rain.

The Tokyo Rakisuta Rams stopped the Nagoya Hosho Reliables, 9-5, at Nagoya Minami Stadium. The Rams got a big game from Takao Matsumoto, who was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Tetsuji Iwasaki, credited with the win, is now 9-5. He allowed 5 runs on 14 hits in 9 innings.

Nariyuki Hamada dealt the Reliables a blow in the top of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Tokyo Rakisuta leading 5-3, Hamada, who finished 4th in the JBA in stolen bases with 20 in 1947, hit a 2-1 curveball for a run-scoring single.

"This is a very good team," said Matsumoto. "We have the chance to do something special."

The Rams lead the Japanese Baseball Association by 2½ games.
