| Wolves Score Late to Upend Stars, 8-3 | The bad news for the Los Angeles Stars: an opening day loss, 8-3, to the Toronto Wolves at Bigsby Stadium. The good news: it was just game one in a long season. No one played better than Chick Reed. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Toronto reliever George Adams picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ted Ferguson took the loss.
In the top of the eighth, Reed put his team in front with his 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Ted Ferguson, made it 4-3, Toronto.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Toronto skipper Randy Hohlt.
