Foresters Squeeze By New York, 8-7
The New York Imperials got a superb performance from right fielder Jack Woods, but the Cleveland Foresters still won the game, 8-7. Woods was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The Foresters saw their win-loss record go to 77-81. At the same time, the Imperials fell to 53-105.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Cleveland center fielder Tom Carr, facing Eddie Webb, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Foresters the 8-7 win.

Said Carr: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
