Narrow Win Takes Detroit Streak to 7 | Bill Ingraham did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Minneapolis Millers from being beaten, 5-4, to the Detroit Dynamos at Thompson Field. Ingraham went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. With their winning streak at 7, the Dynamos have raced to a strong start this season.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Detroit third baseman Larry Klinker, facing Bobby Crooks, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Dynamos the 5-4 win.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Detroit manager Verlin Alexander. | |
